About us

Penistone Ladies Choir was formed in 1986 in the market town of Penistone, on the south-eastern edge of the Pennines in South Yorkshire.

Directed by the talented Rachel Mathieson, and accompanied by Yvonne Woffenden, we are an exciting award-winning ladies choir with over 40 members. We enjoy singing a wide repertoire of songs from classical, religious, folk and contemporary styles.

We rehearse every Monday evening from 7.30 pm to 9.30pm at St Mary’s Church, Talbot Road, Penistone. We enjoy a busy schedule of rehearsals, concerts, fundraisers, with the occasional competition and trip away.

If you’d like to sing with us, come along on any Monday evening to join in or just listen. No audition necessary and you don’t even have to be able to read music!
